App Store and Google Play Screenshot Sizes 2026 (With Design Tips)

Store screenshots are the most important marketing images your app has: they decide whether someone installs. Here are the sizes for 2026 and what makes them work.

Apple App Store

• iPhone 6.9-inch (required): 1320 × 2868 portrait, or 2868 × 1320 landscape.
• iPhone 6.5-inch (optional): 1284 × 2778 or 1242 × 2688.
• iPad 13-inch (required for iPad apps): 2064 × 2752 portrait.

App Store Connect can scale the largest size down for smaller devices, so in practice one iPhone set and, if needed, one iPad set covers everything. Up to 10 screenshots per device size, PNG or JPG, no transparency.

Google Play

• Phone: any size from 320 to 3840 pixels per side, long side no more than twice the short side. 1080 × 1920 is standard.
• Tablet: 1920 × 1200 or larger for 7 and 10 inch tablets.
• Between 2 and 8 screenshots per device type; at least 4 recommended to be featured.

Designing screenshots that convert

1. The first three tell the story. Most people do not swipe further.
2. One idea per screenshot, with a short headline of four to six words.
3. Show the product, not a stock photo.
4. Benefits, not features: "Find any screenshot in seconds", not "OCR search".
5. Large, readable type. Screenshots are shown small in search results.
6. Consistent style across the set, so they read as one sequence.
