Every platform has its own sizes, they change every year or two, and the wrong one gets cropped badly or blurred. Here is the 2026 reference, then a quick way to resize to any of them.
- Feed portrait: 1080 × 1350 (4:5). The best choice: it takes the most feed space.
- Feed square: 1080 × 1080 (1:1).
- Stories and Reels: 1080 × 1920 (9:16). Keep text out of the top and bottom 250px, where the interface sits.
- Profile picture: 320 × 320, shown as a circle.
- Post image, landscape: 1200 × 627.
- Post image, portrait: 1080 × 1350.
- Company cover: 1128 × 191.
- Profile banner: 1584 × 396.

Resizing to any of these
The free GetRef Image Resizer has every size above as a preset. Drop an image, pick the platform, drag to choose what stays in frame, download. It runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Keep a reference of what works
The posts that perform best are worth saving: the layout, the type, the thumbnail that got clicks. Screenshot them into a library you can search, so next time you start from what worked. How to build a design swipe file covers the habit.
